White Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. baking powder
    5 large eggs
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. cake flour
    1 lb. cryst. cherries
    1 lb. cryst. pineapple
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    4 c. nut meats (pecans)
Preparation
    Cream
    butter and sugar.
    Add well
    beaten
    eggs.
    Chop nuts and fruit.
    Mix with part flour and baking powder and add to butter and egg mixture.
    Grease pan and
    line
    with
    brown paper. Grease paper only on bottom of pan.
    Put
    in cold oven and bake for 30 minutes at 300\u00b0, then turn to
    250\u00b0
    for 2 1/2 hours. Makes a 5 pound cake.
    For a more moist
    cake,
    add
    1 cup jelly.
