Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 pt. milk, scalded and cooled
    1 yeast cake, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    flour
Preparation
    Combine the first 8 ingredients and add enough flour to make dough stiff,
    yet
    pliable.
    Let
    rise
    in
    a warm place; punch down once or twice.
    Roll out and cut.
    Let lay 30 to 40 minutes, then fry.
