Brandied Apples(Serves 7) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 small cooking apples
    1 c. water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    juice of 2 lemons
    1/2 small bottle maraschino cherries
    1/2 c. brandy or bourbon
Preparation
    Peel and core apples.
    Leave apples whole.
    Let water and sugar mixture come to a boil.
    Drop apples in mixture and add lemon juice.
    Cook on medium-high until tender.
    Don't stir or burn.
    Remove from heat.
    Pour into a casserole type baking dish. Add cherries.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 oven until syrup boils up.
    Remove from oven and immediately add 1/2 cup bourbon or brandy.
    Light and serve.
