Old Fashioned Coconut Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    3 eggs yolks
    1 c. coconut
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (9-inch) cooked crust
    3 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/3 c. coconut
Preparation
    Combine sugar and flour in saucepan.
    Stir in milk.
    Cook and stir over medium heat until bubbly, approximately 6 to 8 minutes. Stir 1 cup hot mix into beaten egg yolks; return to pan and cook until thick, 3 or 4 minutes.
    Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup coconut, butter and vanilla.
    Pour into cooked pie crust; set aside.
    Beat egg whites with cream of tartar and then add sugar. Continue beating until egg whites stand up in peaks.
    Spread on pie.
    Sprinkle with coconut.
    Place in 350\u00b0
    oven until brown, approximately 15 minutes.
