Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 loaf white bread, dried
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk or cream
    2 Tbsp. brown or white sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 to 2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Simmer raisins in water until plump.
    Combine diced bread, eggs, cream, sugar and spices and mix well by hand.
    Add raisins and mix gently.
    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes until golden brown.
    Place pan in larger pan of water to prevent burning while baking if necessary.
