Stewed Chicken In Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. fryer
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed cream of celery soup or mushroom soup
    1 soup can hot water
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    pepper
Preparation
    Cut
    chicken
    into
    frying pieces.
    Pour soup and water into large saucepan.
    Add chicken and a dash of pepper.
    Cover and simmer until tender, about 1 hour.
    Add butter during last 10 minutes of cooking.
    The combination of the chicken flavor with the
    other
    ingredients
    will
    yield
    a delicious stewed chicken with
    a rich savory gravy.
    Serve in a large crockery dish, piping hot.
    Hot split biscuits or rolls make an excellent base for smothering with this delicious gravy.
