French Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 deep dish pie crust shell
    1 1/2 c. shredded American or mild Cheddar cheese
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of cayenne pepper
    1 (3 1/2 oz.) can French fried onions
    1 2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven and cookie sheet to 325\u00b0.
    Reserve 1/2 cup of the onions.
    Sprinkle remaining onions on bottom of pie shell. Sprinkle cheese over onions.
    Combine eggs, milk and seasonings. Pour over cheese.
    Bake on preheated cookie sheet for 45 minutes. Sprinkle reserved onions around edge of pie.
    Bake 5 to 10 minutes more (or until a knife inserted in pie center comes out clean). Let stand before serving.
    Serves 6.
