Upside-Down Beef Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 Tbsp. Crisco
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1/2 recipe cornbread (I use 1 box of Jiffy cornbread mix made according to the recipe on the box.)
Preparation

Saute onion, green pepper and meat into Crisco until lightly browned.
Add sauce and seasonings and let simmer while mixing cornbread mixture.
Pour batter mixture over the hot meat mixture. Bake in a 6 x 10-inch pan for 20 to 25 minutes.
Turn out on a platter upside down and serve.
