Edna'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/4 c. sifted plain flour
    3 sticks butter
    5 large eggs
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Separate eggs; beat egg whites until stiff.
    Put in refrigerator.
    Cream butter and add sugar.
    Beat at high speed. Add egg yolks.
    Add milk and flour alternately.
    Add flavoring and fold in egg whites.
    Pour into greased steeple pan.
    Bake for 1 3/4 hours in a 275\u00b0 oven.
