Chicken-Rice Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    5 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. chicken broth
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. cooked wild or white rice (1/2 c. uncooked)
    2 c. cut-up, cooked chicken
    3/4 c. sliced mushrooms
    1/3 c. chopped green pepper
    2 Tbsp. chopped pimento
    1/4 c. slivered almonds
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour, salt and pepper.
    Cook over low heat until smooth and bubbly.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in chicken broth and milk. Bring to a boil.
    Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
    Mix sauce with remaining ingredients.
    Pour into greased 2-quart baking dish.
    Bake 40 to 45 minutes.
    Makes 8 servings.
