Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
5 c. flour
Preparation

Cream the butter with powdered and granulated sugar.
Beat in eggs until smooth.
Slowly stir in remaining ingredients.
Chill dough for easy handling.
Shape into walnut size balls.
Dip in granulated sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet 3 inches apart. Flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass dipped in granulated sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
