Apple Slice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg yolk, add enough milk to make 2/3 c.
    5 c. sliced, peeled apples
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. powdered sugar
    2 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Sift flour and salt.
    Cut in shortening.
    Put egg yolk in measuring cup and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup.
    Add to shortening. Mix.
    Shape into ball.
    Roll 1/2 of the dough into 15 x 11. Transfer to cookie sheet.
    Cover with apples.
    Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
    Roll out rest of dough and place over apples. Pinch edges together.
    Beat egg white and spread on top of crust. Bake in 400\u00b0 oven 20 to 30 minutes.
    While dough is hot, drizzle glaze over top.
