Peach Preserves - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 qt. firm ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
5 c. sugar
Preparation

Combine peaches and sugar in a heavy pot and let stand overnight.
Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
Boil gently until fruit becomes clear and syrup is thick.
Stir often to prevent sticking.
A dash of lemon juice will help taste and prevent sugar crystals forming.
Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
