Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 3/4 c. Karo syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. butter
    2 c. cream, divided
Preparation
    Boil all ingredients except 1 cup of cream which is added after boiling mixture for 30 minutes.
    Add second cup of cream and boil until firm stage.
    Pour into buttered 9 x 9-inch pan.
