Sponge Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. almond
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    7 egg yolks
    7 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Sift flour once, measure and sift 4 times.
    Add water and 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla and almond to egg yolks and beat with mixer until very thick and light.
    Add flour all at once and stir until just blended.
    Beat egg whites and salt with mixer.
    When foamy, add cream of tartar.
    Continue to beat until egg whites are stiff enough to hold up in peaks, but not dry.
    Add remaining 3/4 cup sugar.
    Fold in egg yolk mixture.
    Bake in ungreased tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour.
