Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 c. eggs
3 c. applesauce
2/3 c. crushed nuts
2 c. raisins
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cook raisins in small amount of water and cool.
Measure dry ingredients and sift together.
Cream sugar and butter thoroughly. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well.
Alternate applesauce and dry ingredients using dry ingredients for last addition.
Stir in nuts and raisins which have been covered with a small amount of flour.
This prevents them from going to the bottom of pan.
Bake in loaf pan or layers which have been greased and floured.
Bake at 325\u00b0.
Test center of cake with cake tester or toothpick. Usually when cake slightly leaves the edge of pan, cake is done. Ice with icing desired.
