E. Miller'S Mincemeat Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 lb. (5 qt.) ground tart apples (start with 12 lb. whole)
    5 lb. (2 1/2 qt.) ground cooked pork or beef (start with 5 lb.)
    2 lb. raisins
    1 c. apple cider or tart juice such as cherry juice
    1 c. dark corn syrup
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 c. suet (optional; use when canning)
Preparation
    Combine ingredients.
    Heat just until boiling over medium-high heat.
    Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer until raisins are soft (15 to 20 minutes).
    Allow to cool.
    Divide the resulting 18 pounds into 1 1/2 pound portions and freeze.
    Makes 12 (9-inch) pies.
