Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. water
    6 beef bouillon cubes
    1 (1 lb.) bag dried split peas, washed and drained
    3/4 c. finely chopped onion
    1/2 c. finely chopped carrots
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Bring water to a boil in a large saucepot.
    Stir in bouillon cubes, split peas, onion, carrots, salt and pepper.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer for about 5 hours.
    For thicker soup, cook longer.
    Each serving contains 140 calories.
