Grammie'S Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    2 well rounded tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. shortening, heaped up
    1 1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together 4 times.
    Mix in shortening, breaking it up with a fork.
    Stir in milk to form a ball.
    Roll out on floured board, not too thin, about 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter and place biscuits, not touching each other, on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 450\u00b0.
