Wilted Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 heads red leaf lettuce
    1/4 lb. bacon
    1/3 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    small amount of sliced red onion
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces in a bowl.
    Add thinly sliced red onion.
    Fry bacon until entirely crisp; drain, saving grease.
    Crumble bacon into salad.
    Dissolve brown sugar in vinegar.
    Pour this mixture alternately with hot grease over salad and toss.
