Sponge Cake(My Mother'S Recipe, 1915) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 eggs, separated
1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cold water
1 scant c. flour
1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation

Beat egg yolks until thick; gradually add sugar and beat two minutes.
Add cold water.
Sift together flour, cornstarch, salt and baking powder.
Add to egg mixture.
Add lemon extract.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Fold into flour mixture.
Bake in an angel cake pan 45 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
Be sure to grease and flour the pan well.
