Grandmother Lou'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 c. flour
    5 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter with mixer; gradually add sugar and eggs one at a time, beating after each. Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in flavor; pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or until the toothpick comes out clean. Makes 3 loaves.
