Orange Candy Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 sticks oleo (1/2 lb.)
    4 eggs
    1 1/3 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
    4 c. flour
    1 lb. chopped orange candy slices
    1 pkg. chopped dates
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream together sugar, oleo and eggs.
    Sift together flour and soda.
    (Use three cups in batter and reserve 1 cup for dusting candy, nuts and dates.)
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
    Dust candy, nuts and dates with remaining 1 cup flour.
    Add to batter with grated orange rind.
    Mix well.
