Pickled Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. sliced squash
    2 c. sliced onions
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
    1 c. white vinegar
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Combine squash, onions and salt.
    Let stand 1 hour.
    Drain. Make a mixture of bell pepper, vinegar, sugar, celery seed and mustard seed.
    Heat over medium heat until mixture starts to boil. Add squash mixture. Bring to a boil.
    Place in clean sterilized jars.
