Crullers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. milk
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    4 or 5 Tbsp. melted shortening
    6 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. nutmeg (or more)
    7 c. flour (approximately)
Preparation
    Beat eggs and sugar.
    Add shortening and milk.
    Sift dry ingredients and add enough to make a stiff dough.
    Chill about 45 minutes.
    Roll dough about 1/2-inch thick.
    Cut in strips about 3/4 x 2-inches.
    Twist and fry or roll dough with your hands in the shape of a log and fry in deep fat or oil at 360\u00b0 until light brown.
    Drain on paper towels.
    If desired, shake in bag of confectioners sugar.
