French Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    6 c. flour
    sesame seed
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    a little cornmeal
    1 pkg. yeast
Preparation
    Combine shortening, sugar and salt.
    Pour 1 cup boiling water over this mixture, then add 1 cup cold water.
    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
    Add to sugar mixture.
    Stir in 6 cups of flour or enough to make soft dough.
    Knead 5 minutes.
    Place in greased bowl and let rise in a warm place 45 minutes.
    Punch down and divide into 2 circular loaves.
    Place on greased cookie sheet sprinkle with cornmeal.
    Sprinkle the loaves with sesame seed. Make 3 slits in each loaf. Let rise 1 hour.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes, then at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
