Texas Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk
    3 Tbsp. white corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. maple flavoring
    1 c. broken pecans
    1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    Cook sugars, milk, syrup and salt to soft ball stage (236\u00b0). Remove from heat.
    Add butter and flavoring.
    Stir until syrup begins to thicken.
    Add broken pecans and drop from a spoon into cakes on waxed paper placed on a cookie sheet.
    Press pecan halves into surface, working quickly because pralines harden rapidly!
