Date-Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dates
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. boiling water
    1 egg
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cut dates fine; mix dates, sugar and butter in
    3/4 cup boiling water; let cool.
    Then mix all ingredients.
    Put in bread pan (loaf).
    Bake for 40 to 50 minutes in moderate oven at 350\u00b0.
