Deep-Dish Peach Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 medium fresh California peaches (3 lb.)
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. toasted almonds, chopped
    pastry for 1-crust pie
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
Preparation
    Peel and slice peaches to measure 6 cups.
    In bowl, combine sugar, flour and nutmeg.
    Add peaches, almonds and almond extract. Toss to coat thoroughly.
    Turn into 2-quart casserole dish.
    On lightly floured board, roll out pastry; cut into 1/2-inch wide strips.
    Arrange in lattice fashion over filling, moistening ends of strips and sealing to dish.
    Bake in 425\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes or until crust is golden.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
