Pecan Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white syrup
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cook sugar and syrup in water until syrup spins a thread.
    Add nuts and cook until golden brown.
    Syrup will look like it's burning.
    Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients.
    Stir while it is bubbling.
    Pour onto greased aluminum foil.
    Spread thin.
