Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 gal. jar full whole cucumbers
4 c. white vinegar
2 Tbsp. alum
4 Tbsp. plain salt
2 Tbsp. whole pickling spice
water
6 c. sugar
Preparation

Mix vinegar, alum, salt and pickling spice and pour over cucumbers.
Finish filing jar with water.
Let set for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, drain and slice cucumbers.
Add sugar; shake to dissolve and let set in refrigerator 1 day.
