Quick Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    2 cans cherry pie filling
    2 sticks oleo, melted
    2 c. chopped nuts
    1/4 c. plus 3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    5 ripe pears, cored, peeled and chopped (4 c.)
    1 c. fresh or frozen cranberries
    1/3 c. 1% milk
    2 large eggs
    1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
    6 slices firm white bread, crusts trimmed
    1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    In a square baking dish, stir together 1/4 cup of the sugar and cornstarch.
    Add pears and cranberries; stir until well combined.
    Place in the oven to bake for 20 minutes, stirring midway, or until the fruit is tender and the juices have begun to thicken.
