Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter (oleo)
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream butter, shortening and sugar.
Add egg yolks, beating after each one.
Gradually add flour and soda to the creamed mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
Stir in coconut, vanilla and nuts.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
