Southern Hamburger Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 small can chopped green chilies
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 (5.5 oz.) can refrigerated biscuits
    1 c. low-fat cottage cheese
    1 tsp. paprika
    1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
    4 oz. cream cheese, cubed
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    red pepper flakes (optional)
Preparation
    Cook beef and onion in large skillet on medium heat.
    Drain fat and return to skillet.
    Add mushrooms, green chilies and cream cheese.
    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until cheese melts.
    Stir in flour, salt, pepper, paprika and cumin.
    Split each biscuit in half.
    Pat biscuits into baking pan that is lightly greased.
    Spoon meat mixture into dough.
    Combine cottage cheese and egg; mix well and spread over meat mixture.
    Sprinkle with paprika and red pepper flakes, if desired.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
