Hopping John - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
4 to 6 slices bacon
1 small box cooked rice
green chilies
2 cans black-eyed peas
Preparation

Brown the ground beef; drain grease and set beef aside.
Fry the bacon; set aside.
Pour bacon grease into ground beef.
Cook rice.
Mix cooked rice and ground beef together.
Cut up bacon; add it to mixture.
Add a little green chilies, along with its juice, to desired hotness.
Add the black-eyed peas.
Simmer 10 to 15 minutes.
