Chocolate Nut Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. nuts, divided
Preparation
    In mixing bowl, beat shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla just until smooth.
    Combine dry ingredients; stir into batter.
    Fold in half the nuts.
    Spread into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle remaining nuts on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes, or until brownies pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool on wire rack.
    Cut into squares.
    Yields 2 dozen.
