Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. dates
1 tsp. soda
1 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. nuts
1 egg
1 large tsp. butter
dash of salt

Preparation

Pour boiling water over dates and soda; let cool.
Add the rest of ingredients.
Pour in greased and floured pan and bake at 350\u00b0.
