Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
5 large eggs
2 c. flour (all-purpose or cake flour)
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. vanilla flavoring
1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

In large bowl, cream together sugar, margarine and shortening, then add 1 egg at a time, mixing after each egg.
Sift flour and soda together and add to mixture.
Add the buttermilk and mix well.
Stir in coconut, pecans and vanilla.
Bake in three 9-inch cake pans, greased and floured.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Cool on rack for 15 minutes.
Frost while still warm.
