Fried Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large apples
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/3 c. water
    1/3 c. sugar
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Slice apples into skillet with melted butter.
    Add remaining ingredients, cover and cook gently, stirring occasionally for about 4 minutes or until apples are tender.
    Uncover and continue cooking, stirring a bit, until syrup thickens.
    Serve as a meat accompaniment or as a dessert.
