Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. raw cucumbers
    4 small onions
    1/2 c. salt
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    3/4 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. celery seed
    4 c. water
Preparation
    Slice the cucumbers and onions thin.
    Mix the salt into them and let stand
    3 hours.
    Combine sugar, turmeric, mustard seed, celery seed, vinegar
    and
    water.
    Add
    to cucumbers and onions. Heat; put in jars and seal.
