Divinity Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook sugar, water and syrup until it will spin a thread.
    Pour 1/2 of syrup over beaten egg whites.
    Cook other half until it forms a hard ball when dropped in cold water.
    Beat; pour onto greased plate to cool.
    Cut in squares.
    Peanut butter or nuts can be added, if desired.
