Maraschino Cherry Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 oz. bottle maraschino cherries
3/4 c. liquid (cherry juice and milk)
2 Tbsp. flour
4 egg whites
1/2 c. pecans
Preparation

Cream butter.
Add sugar gradually, creaming thoroughly.
Add flour, salt and baking powder together.
Sift.
Add to butter mixture alternately with liquid.
Quarter cherries and dredge with flour the cherries and nuts.
Blend into batter.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake in a tube pan or in 2 layer pans (well-greased and floured) at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
Cool on cake rack.
Frost with Fluffy White Frosting.
