Cherry Coconut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. shortening
    6 Tbsp. confectioners sugar
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. shredded coconut
    1 c. maraschino cherries, cut in quarters
Preparation
    Mix well with hands the 2 cups flour, shortening and confectioners sugar.
    Pat firmly into ungreased pan (8 x 16-inch). Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Do not brown.
