Frozen Fruit Mold - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (13 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained (keep juice)
    1 (3 1/2 oz.) pkg. vanilla pudding and pie filling (not instant)
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    2 c. (9 oz.) Cool Whip
    1/4 c. canned Bing cherries, cut in quarters
    1/4 c. chopped pecans
    1 banana, diced
Preparation
    Drain pineapple.
    Reserve liquid and measure. Add water to make 2 1/4 cups.
    Combine pudding mix, sugar and 1/4 cup pineapple syrup in saucepan.
    Add egg and blend well. Stir in remaining syrup.
    Stir over medium heat until comes to full boil. Remove from heat and cover with wax paper.
    Chill.
