Corn Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion
    1 stick oleo
    1 qt. milk
    2 cans creamed corn
    4 medium potatoes
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1/4 tsp. marjoram
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    pepper to taste
    1/2 c. heavy cream
Preparation
    Thinly slice onion and saute in butter until cooked, not brown.
    Add milk, corn, thyme, marjoram, salt and pepper.
    Simmer 1 hour.
    Peel potatoes and dice.
    Cook until done but firm; drain and add to soup.
    Last, add cream.
    Stir and serve.
