New England Brown Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt (scant)
2 c. whole wheat flour
2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 c. dark molasses
1 c. raisins
Preparation

In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt.
In another bowl, combine whole wheat flour, buttermilk and molasses, adding this to the other flour mixture.
Mix well and stir in raisins.
Pour into well-greased 11.5 ounce coffee cans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until tested done.
Yields 2 loaves.
