Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef (chuck)
    1/2 c. bacon dripping
    salt (approximately 1 1/2 Tbsp.)
    pepper
    4 carrots
    2 onions
    4 potatoes
    1 c. chopped celery
Preparation
    Salt meat.
    Roll in flour.
    Brown entire surface in hot fat. Place on rack in Dutch oven.
    Add 3 tablespoons flour to hot fat. Brown.
    Add 3 cups water and 1 teaspoon salt and make a gravy, stirring while it cooks.
    Place roast in Dutch oven.
    Add gravy. Cover with tight fitting lid.
    Simmer until meat is tender.
    Add vegetables and cook about 20 minutes longer.
    Roast may be cooked in pressure saucepan instead of Dutch oven.
