Soft Spice Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. margarine, melted
    1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar, divided
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. each: ground cinnamon, ground cloves and ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, combine margarine, 1 cup sugar and molasses.
    Beat in egg until smooth. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and spices; stir into the molasses mixture.
    Spread into a greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan.
    Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Do not overbake.
    Cool on a wire rack before cutting. Yield:
    2 1/2 dozen.
