Smothered "Steak And Onions" - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 oz. beef (hamburger)
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1 3/4 c. (14.5 oz. can) beef broth
    6 Tbsp. dried fine bread crumbs
    2 c. sliced onions
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
Preparation
    In large bowl combine meat, black pepper and 1/4 cup beef broth and bread crumbs.
    Mix well with hands.
    Form 6 patties.
    Place patties in large skillet; brown on both sides.
    Layer onions evenly over patties.
    In a covered jar, combine remaining ingredients. Shake well.
    Pour over onions and meat.
    Lower heat.
    Cover. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes.
