Curry Tomato Bisque - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 2 large onions, finely chopped
    1/4 c. butter
    2 Tbsp. curry powder
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
    6 c. chicken broth
    2 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. rice, uncooked
    1 qt. whole tomatoes
    1 c. cream
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Saute onions in butter.
    Add curry powder, salt and pepper. Cook 5 minutes or until onion is tender.
    Add chicken broth, carrots, rice and tomatoes.
    Cook for 1/2 hour.
    Flavor to taste with salt and pepper, if necessary.
    Add cream and milk just before serving.
    Do not boil.
    Add a little butter at the end (optional).
